Carmina Burana – Cork Choral Festival

Carmina_Burana-bigMark conducted Tallaght Choral Society and East Cork Choral Society accompanied by members of Defence Forces Bands in a performance of Carl Orff’s ‘Carmina Burana’ at the opening Gala Concert of the Cork International Choral Festival. This was the first Irish performance of the arrangement for wind band by Juan Mas Quiles and it was received with great enthusiasm by the audience. Soloists were Cara O’Sullivan, Peter Kerr who reprised his famous role as the ‘roasting swan’ and Owen Gilhooly who gave a robust characterisation as the Abbot!
